"While is not better then sonic adventure 2, it still does an excellent job in delivering a REAL 3-D Sonic game" - sonicphoto
Sonic Heroes was a game that some people like it, and other simply didn't. Sonic Heroes gave players the oppurtunity to control a team of 3 characters, each with their own unique ability. They are in toal 4 teams that you can play with, in which three of them have the samestages but the difficulty is different on each team. There is also Team Chaotix that also have the same level but are done in a different way which is finding stuff like Knuckles did on the Adventure games but with no radar, all by yourself.
The team combination helps a lot in porgressing through the game. One character is the speed dude where you can go through the stage running around fast, perform tornados to go a round in cirles on a poll and many other stuff. The power dudes are what I like to call the fighters. The power dues are the best to destroy robots and obstacles that are in the way. And last but not least, is the flyers which basically fly all the characters together to high places. They are also some special robots that can only die by a specific character.
Featuring nice puzzles done by the help of your teammates. Switching to one character to the other, works smoothly throughout the game. The only two things the game failed to achieve is the story that is not told well and the fact that each team has the same stages making the game lack some variety. Sonic Heroes is a great addition to the series despite his problems and at least features the 3-D sonic platforming formula that worked in the adventure games, instead of the other formulas trying to make with unleashed and the secret rings.
